Do artists randomly choose apples to depict in their artworks, or is there a deeper cultural
significance associated with this choice?
Apples appear in many religious traditions, often as a mystical or forbidden fruit. Consequently, in
the story of Adam and Eve, the apple became a symbol for knowledge, immortality, temptation, the
fall of man into sin, and sin itself. Through collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum, we were granted
access to their API, allowing us to retrieve all the artwork’s data.
